Altaf asks educators to engage pupils in objective learning

JAMMU, JANUARY 29 (KNO) : Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today asked the teaching fraternity to engage children in objective learning through latest teaching-learning methods to improve quality of primary and elementary education in the government schools. “Primary and elementary education is of immense importance for laying the strong foundation and enable students to prepare for future challenges’ the Minister said adding that qualitative improvement in the education system in government schools and filling infrastructure gap was the top priority of the government. Speaking to a deputation of Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers’ Forum, who called on him, the Minister, asked the teachers to pay individual attention to children and explore their abilities and channelize these in a right direction. “Every child possesses some extraordinary aptitude, which needs to be explored and further honed. This will help to prepare them for modern and employable courses which have been introduced at secondary, senior secondary and undergraduate levels” the Minister said adding that these aim at to create a productive human resource compatible to the present job market. The Minister said that the government and people have high expectations from the teaching community as they are the real architects of future. Responding to the demands projected by the deputation the Minister said that government is abreast with their issues and is sympathetically looking into the same. Earlier, the deputation members projected their issues and sought early DPC for the promotion of teachers to master Grade, removal of pay anomalies of teachers, establishment of Teachers Welfare Fund, repatriation of teachers from ministerial postings and provision of earned leave for teachers.(KNO)
